The VEMA Award is sanctioned and judged by the VEMA Arts & Standards Council, an invitation-only body consisting of a distinguished group of highly skilled professionals with expertise, leadership and vision in the various disciplines within the multimedia arts.
All entries receive equal treatment and are individually evaluated against a high standard of merit using a proprietary scoring rubric developed by the VEMA Arts & Standards Council. By adhering to the specific guidelines and criteria of this system our judges are able to maintain the highest degree of fairness, accuracy and integrity. Under this system, there is no preset number of winners. Therefore, it is possible that no entry in a given category will qualify to win a VEMA Award. However, it is also possible that more than one entry may qualify to win the same award in the same year. There are no essays allowed to persuade the judging; so all entries are afforded an equal chance of winning an award.
On average, it takes about eight weeks of full-time effort to complete the judging. Upon completion of judging, all entrants will be notified by email or postal mail as to the status of their entries. VEMA Award winners will receive a winner’s packet in the postal mail with a certificate and instructions on arranging purchases from the VEMA store to commemorate their honor.
Since many of the entries are internal or confidential in nature, or are done for the government or another company, only the judges view the entries. Immediately after judging, each hard copy entry is destroyed, each electronic entry is securely deleted. No entrant information is sold, traded, made available to a third party or used for any other purpose.
All decisions of the judges are final. Judges’ decisions cannot be appealed.
